Marinated and Pan-Fried Tofu

A simple yet incredibly flavorful vegan dish: tofu marinated in soy sauce, maple syrup, and spices, then pan-fried until golden. Perfect even for those who think they don’t like tofu!

  • 400 g tofu
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp white wine vinegar
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil (or sesame oil)
  • 0.5 tsp ground ginger
  • 0.5 tsp sweet paprika
  • 1 pinch garlic powder

Instrucstions

Drain the tofu and pat it dry with paper towels, then cut it into cubes or slices.

In a bowl, mix soy sauce, maple syrup, vinegar, oil, and all the spices.

Add the tofu to the marinade and gently toss to coat evenly.

Let marinate for at least 1 hour (less if using a vacuum container).

Heat a non-stick pan over medium-high heat and add the tofu with its marinade.

Pan-fry until the tofu is golden and the sauce slightly caramelized.

Serve immediately, on its own or with vegetables or rice.
